The wording is a little misleading. They shouldn't have called it a set screw and then refer to it again in the same sentence as just a "screw".

Don't over think it. One screw per hole per flyweight of the appropriate length based on their setup guide.

I have 28" tires coming so I'm going to put ONE 1/2" screw in each flyweight.
if you have aftermarket wheels, consider a shorter set screw.

Cool thanks. Went with the 3/8 and buttoned it all up. Now the wheels/tires have to come in time for the trip or I'll have to swap weights to run the stock tires.

When you're too lazy to make a spring compressor you break out one of your automotive strut spring compressors, take off the spring hooks, replace with grinding discs front and back. Boom, clutch spring compressor. lol hey, it worked!

Lots of ways to make a compressor for sure. I made mine from threads rod and a few nuts and washers I had around. Nothing professional but works like a charm.

How much of a pain is it to do it without a compression tool?

Not horribly bad. Just a little more risky because that aluminum is so soft. Need to make sure u start screws straight and don't let spring pressure pull them out with a thread or 2 left

Finally got my kit installed, was expecting more dramatic change to be honest. It does seem to be smoother in general, and back shifts are smoother also, but no noticable difference in acceleration

What I've gathered from this thread and members comments, unless your putting on much bigger tires or serious performance mods, the Speedwerx secondary spring will probably be sufficient for most of us. I do like the adjustability of this kit, so if someone rides at different elevations on a regular basis, it would be nice to have. I was just about ready to buy this kit for myself, but recent comments from a member whose opinions I respect and trust, I think I'll just stick with my Speedwerx spring.

Good advise. I have gobs of tuning components for sleds, but nothing is applicable to these things. This seemed to be a somewhat reasonable way to start collecting part for this toy.

After a bit of research, I found the kit on sale, with free shipping and no tax. Going to try it.

I have 28" tires and live at 5000 Ft elevation. The four stroke doesn't give me an immediate feeling of needing to tune clutching since it has a nice power band, unlike my two strokes at elevation. I actually tend to ride this at lower speeds, not so much the adrenaline junkie as on my sleds. I was out last weekend with a group of folks and got a chance to play at its potential. I think there will be some to gain at the big end.

Dalton clutch kit is amazing in my book. By far the smoothest engaging clutch I've used and I've tested 4.
