    You know, I get your point about the "cult" following because I fit into that category, but the truth is, they need to grow and grow by leaps and bounds. I really don't think the name Arctic Cat would help them in that case simply because where they are going to grow, those consumers do not have the exposure to the Arctic Cat brand like us in the snow belt. Its personal for me because I have been with them since before I could walk. My dad raced sleds for them in the 70's and many of his "inventions" ended up on the Team Arctic sleds and eventually the consumer sleds.
    Bad Boy was basically a group of guys buying EZGO golf carts and souping them up for hunting purposes. Textron bought them after buying EZGO. I, too, worry about the way AC is going to treat their customers. AC has been absolutely wonderful for my family over the years and that is a main reason we stayed loyal to them.

    Not sure if it was Bad Boy or who but Stampede was the name of the SxS. I believe they could grow with the AC name if they hit it hard with marketing, something Cat never spent much money on. Cat has the ability to build "it" but the beanies were holding them back, lining their own pockets instead of worrying about what was important, grow the company and take care of the consumers wants and needs.

    ^^ Those beenies were cutting building costs to improve the margins which makes the books look healthy prior to a sale. I see it all of the time when Oil & Gas companies decide to sell. That was the delay on the XX as well, a sale of this magnitude does not happen overnight.

    I have a had time believing they shit canned Claude (paying the remainder of his contract and what ever else) and then hire Chris Metz knowing they were looking to sell. They could have just left Christopher Twomey in until sold.

    That's my point why fire Claude hire Metz only to sell out. Metz left/fired after the acquisition not before.

    Wow! No Wildcat XX for another year. I guess Robby Gordon and team will be racing in the unlimited class with the Speedcat.

    Name change might be a good thing for the SXS and ATV division. Gives them a chance to rebrand the division, which it needs.

    I don't think so. The framework is there. They just have to get the car to the public. Unfortunately it will be next year. Look at it this way, NA car in the Spring, turbo in the Fall. Could be a banner year. Time will tell.

    I agree with Frank. I had a hard time buying AC because I've always had the stigma that AC was sub-par. I didn't want a Popo though. I think you're going to have a hard time convincing people that Textron Off Road is not like CF Moto and these other Chinese brands flooding the market lately. IDK about you, but I'm not buying any of these off brands to take my butt out into BFE. I would keep the AC name. I know AC doesn't have the same reputation as Honda, but it's a lot better than Textron Off Road!

    If you go on Textron Motors site they say their 850cc motor is good up to 135hp with a turbo... They probably already made the decision to keep the yamaha motor which is why they re-affirmed it today at the event. You know they thought about it though.
