If you're getting a rack though, does the 6" matter? If you're going for the rack that just extends the bed/ tailgate, it matters but I don't see how you can tow like that. If you're going for the tailgate up and the machine up on top like a sled deck or a rack up over the cab, I don't think it matters. Especially for $5k and the fact you said "... I would never buy another Polaris as long as I lived...". Even if you spend $5k on a rack, you still didn't have to spend money on something you really don't want.

Load the AC, hook up the trailer and drive around, tailgate will modify itself, problem solved. 🤪

I purchased a Diamondback SXS cover with extensions for my 8' Ram bed.

    https://diamondbackcovers.com/produc...nt=30033041417

It hasnt shipped yet, so I have nothing to really say about quality, etc. Unfortunately at 98" from tip of nose to the center of the rear tire on the trails, I dont think it would work for your 6.5 foot bed although there is a pic there showing a can-am SXS sitting on top with just the risers. The plus is that you would have a solid rain proof tonneau cover to store and lock stuff in. They are kind of pricey.

These are some others I looked at before I made a decision:

    Hope this helps
