    change belt on xx

Just looking at directions on changing belt on xx

It's very simple to just unsnap the clamps to get to everything, that is a plus.

First...once it is spread open with the included tool, there is no way in hell there is enough room to take the belt off like the directions say. Not enough room between belt and cover. Looks easy in photos but...not gonna happen.

Second ....how to hold the secondary to get 60# torque on bolt. What special tool is needed?

Run the tool all the way in the belt slides down into the secondary so you can sneak it around the primary or over the top of the secondary. We check/inspect belts and clutches every race. Its super tight but you can sneak it past.

Thanks Alex...I will run tool in as far as it would allow (touching bolt) ...not enough room on secondary but I might be able to get it off the primary.

I want to break in a new belt.

Rubber hammer helps. I’ve heard guys taking the secondary sheve off. Shouldn’t have to be. Keep it easy for on the trail.

If you take off the secondary, what tool will hold it while you get 60# torque to put sheave back on? Not possible to hold by hand and get that much torque.

Just wanting to cover the bases just in case I have to replace belt on trail.

Don't know what a xx secondary looks like but I hold my secondary on my sport with a oil filter wrench while I torque the bolt or even a simple strap wrench would work .

It's not like the sport or trail..it has a slight taper and an oil filter wrench or strap will slide off the front.

    belt change on XX

My tool has a 90 degree bend that runs into the center bolt on the secondary. Am I supposed to remove that bolt? If so, is that the bolt that has to be torqued to 60#. A little help guys???

Dont remove the secondary clutch bolt. Just thread the tool all the way in until it hits the bolt and work the belt off. Start from the bottom and work counter clockwise around secondary clutch.. Opposite when going back on. Put it around primary clutch and start at the top and work it around clockwise. Pushing up on the plastic housing while you go..

When i try to rotate the belt around the driven there is no room between the belt and plastic clutch housing.

I am not alone on this issue

I used a rubber hammer to roll the belt off and also to roll on.
