    Wildcat XX exhaust

I love my new Wildcat XX and thought about exhaust upgrades but man this thing is already loud!! Probably the loudest stock muffler, no muffler, or aftermarket muffler. LOL So I called a few friends who have shops out West who race and run the dunes. Most said they've tested many mufflers and all you get is ear bleeding noise and only 2-3 horsepower. They have dyno tested many add-ons and come up with this thought....change the header pipe and leave the muffler alone. The aftermarket headers will give you up to 11 horsepower and you can keep your ears from bleeding. The stock muffler also has a high flow spun catalytic converter inside so by keeping the muffler stock you don't have any emissions issues.
These Wildcat XX's are incredible machines!!!

I drilled out the cat, did not see anything that looked high flow or spun. Looked like honeycombed and drill felt like it went through 3 inches of it.

Every time I look at the header, I think how can they get 11 more HP out something different and yet only 3Hp from a muffler change from the CAT and all the packing to silence the beast. It's pretty straight and equal in stock trim.

Was wondering if you saw any improvement after drilling out the muffler. Heat loss? Sound ?
    Thanks

Did Alba header and drilled out cat at the same time. Haven’t tested it out yet, I should this weekend.

I had flash done last year and got it updated for the header. I also got the clutch kit but haven’t had time to install it. I’ll see how header and tune do on its own then with the clutch kit.

Curious if anybody has DB's the dual muffler setups to see how the noise compares to stock. Speed SxS and Trinity both have them....

I just installed the HMF Titan QS Blackout. Sounds about the same. A little louder maybe. I did it mainly to help with the heat. Maybe gain a few horses & lose a few pounds. Looks nice also.

No it don't sound any deeper to me. A little bit louder. Sounds similar to stock but maybe a little more "refined" if that makes any sense. I definitely wouldn't get it if you're looking to change the sound. Like I said, the main reason I got it was to help with the heat because I trimmed a lot of the heat shielding under the bed tub.

Sound wise it sounds deeper less of a high pitch whine. Hard to say, I hadn’t riden since President’s Day, but it seems a tad bit quieter. Might just be the tone. Powerwise it does have more pop seemed to hit quicker. Should even more so when I do the clutch.

I cut the cat out of the stock muffler and it didn't change the sound at all, at least from the drivers seat. Didn't notice ant performance gain but it does seem to stay cooler.

I drilled a bunch of holes in it and chopped the rest out with a chisel. A telescoping magnet works really well to get all the pieces out. I didn't think the stuff would stick to a magnet but it worked really well. Some people said cleaning it all out was the hard part but they must not have tried the magnet. I had it done and back on in less than an hour.

    The elevator guy!

I had a 2012....cracked engine case stock, then w/ MCX Turbo and STM Clutch broke 2 crankshafts, and blew up 2 rear diffs,

Then got a 2014 X Limited....leaked oil since new, bent crankshaft, and cracked the stator cover....

Got a RZR XPT..hauls ass, rides great, handles terrible, sucks in the whoops

    Now....Speed XX #32
