    Subwoofer wildcat XX

Has anyone installed a subwoofer in a XX? I have an underdash in my RZR, and am surprised SSV didn’t make one for under the dash. What’s it look like under there? Think a wetsounds stealth sub might fit under there? It’s 14.75 x 12.75 x 11.5.

Here is the sub. If it fits under the dash, I think it would be a lot better than having two 8” subs on the floor.

SSV makes 2 kicker comp r enclosures that go down by your feet under doors.. looks like they ship May 10th. Mine will be here the 16th. Looking forward to comparing it to the mtx stage 3 and kicker phase 5 in the rzrs

NOAM has a package with a subwoofer. The sub is low profile & has a bar clamp on the back of it. On the XX it could be clamped to the center bar on the roof. I have the system without the sub & it still sounds very good. And very affordable. I'm not sure if you can buy the sub separately.

My buddy bought his XX, and I was able to spend some time looking at it. The glovebox is huge, and having a sub box under there, like the Polaris RZR glovebox sub is a good trade off. I was looking at the dash and don't see that the glovebox comes apart, and that there is a way to sway that out with a sub box, like the RZR.

It looks like when I get mine, I will be using the 8" subs on the floor. I am wondering if there are better subs than the Kickers....

I found out about the Noam audio product line on this site from member drpalo. Since then I contacted Noam to enquire about shipping into Canada. The owner actually wrote me back (cool) in regards to me shipping questions. He also added this :

the NUTV5-S is a great system. i do have to say that in about a month we will release our new NSUB subwoofer that really kick S!
it will also be a part of the new NUTV5-S (V.2) that will be released in about 2 months.

let me know if you have any further questions.

    regards

    Guy

I was skeptical about the 2 ssv floor boxes.
I almost posted before finishing the install about my disappointment. Basically had it wired up and boxes laying in the floor board and up on the front. Even after the install I wasn't super impressed. Got to looking at dash. Volt meter was flashing an almost dead battery. I charged it up overnight. This thing rocks. There's no comparing these and probably any glove box subwoofer. Listening to classic rock to hard rock.

Installing this unit on the XX last night / today. Instructions have it being hardwired to the battery. How are you guys installing these stereos so they turn off when the ignition is turned off ? Any advice is appreciated guys. Thanks.

I have mine wired directly to the battery. I removed my alternator so I have a dual battery set up, just to be safe. Some people have their stereos wired to a switch so they can cut the power from the battery. Whenever my XX is parked I have it hooked up to a battery tender so I never worry about it.

Thanks drpalo. Thats what we ended up doing as well, a direct hard wire. The new sub package to that Noam system pounds. I currently have the sub attached to the centre roll cage bar but I'm hitting my helmet on it. Sooooo, it looks like I'm going to try to attach it to the racing harness post behind the two seats. If there is room we'll mount in between the seats and cut out a piece in the plastic to allow access to the bar. I'll post pics when its all together properly.

I've been very happy with the Noam system so far. Especially for the price compared to other options out there. Looking forward to seeing how your sub relocation goes.

I was really surprised by the quality of the product, right down to the packaging it came in for the price. I have friends that are running every sxs out there with every stereo combo you could imagine. This system doesn't stand down to any of them. Its a no brainer when you factor in the costs. I hope to get back at it this week. I've taken a ton pf pictures of the install up to now. Ill post them up when I get it set up perfect.
