    Baja 1k

Looks like Kolton Hustead and Ray Bulloch are going to be teaming up for the 1000. Speed SxS sounds like they are gonna have 4 cars there. Hopefully the XX's have a good showing.

Ya, sounded like he had some bugs in the car the first couple races, since then its pretty much worked out. And Ray won V2R the year before, should be really interesting to see how they do in Baja teamed up together, lots of talent and experience between the two of them.

Should be an interesting race. Hopefully they can finish. I don't think a Wildcat XX or Speedcat has finished the BK1.

I want to say that they are driving Kolton's car as I saw a video of Ray and Kolton testing it. I'm not too sure how much experience Ray has in Baja but I hope both of those two get to spend a decent amount of time prerunning.

That is how I will be watching it. LOL!

I am very interested to see how the trick truck class pans out with all these "super" teams of drivers. Also curious how well the Awd trucks will do in the race. Especially Robby's unicorn. My money is on Andy/Bryce team winning.

Did you see that footage of the unicorn. Holy crap !

Right now I am really soured on Mexico...I have a trip to Cabo next month...after that, I am taking a hiatus from Baja due to all the crap, the govt and the cartels taking over the country. Too much to do here in the good ole USA. I heard even Rocky Point is getting sketchy- a place I haven't been to but was on the list of places to go.

Robby’s Unicorn is wicked fast and handles on rails. Looks like they got it back together.

I only go to Baja once a year, but still plan on going. Hoping next year to do the Cabo to Tecate ride.

A Speedcat finished the 50th Baja 1000 ... point to point race. Since then the XX has some other finishes.

They did not finish in the alotted time and it was considered a DNF. I beleive that was the year Max Gordon drove and Robby jumped in to finish the last 300 miles with him. The Speedcat and Wildcat XX have yet to finish a 1000 officially. Looks like the only official finish was at this years Baja 400 in the n/a class where they came in 3rd.

Almost every DNF since the XX came out was caused by the water pump. It was theAchilles Heal in Dakar and has killed many chances at a finish in desert races. Yamaha really screwed the pooch on that and Speed has been chasing a cure ever since. With oil coolers and billet impellers and everything else they can think of they think they have it covered now. The YXZ does not build the heat of a CVT car and nobody expected the XX to cook the impeller like it does.

I think they finally have a chance to get it done this year.

    The elevator guy!

I had a 2012....cracked engine case stock, then w/ MCX Turbo and STM Clutch broke 2 crankshafts, and blew up 2 rear diffs,

Then got a 2014 X Limited....leaked oil since new, bent crankshaft, and cracked the stator cover....

Got a RZR XPT..hauls ass, rides great, handles terrible, sucks in the whoops

    Now....Speed XX #32

There were two prototype cars racing that year ... yes RG’s didnt make it in time. The other did finished, however. 1100+ miles of unforgiving Baja terrain with only belts as spares. I say 50% is not bad at all.
