How old is the battery? Still original, considering you have a 14. It could have enough to crank it, but not start it. Also check the plugs.

Pull the plugs and check them. Then check to see if you are getting a spark. If the plugs are good and you are getting spark, make sure that you are getting fuel. Is the pump running when you turn on the key. Something that sudden makes me think spark or fuel.

I can hear the pump run when I turn the key. I thought about the battery maybe being weak so I put a charger on it and tried again with the charger on and the battery fully charged. I will check the spark plugs.

Be careful with that fully charged. The trickle charger will say that, but doesn't mean the battery is at full capacity. If you still have the console disconnected, put a jump on it from a car. If it fires, battery.

the best way to check your batt. is with a multi meter. if it reads 12.25 or higher its charged up,if not, charge it some more. after that put the meter on the batt. while trying to start the car if the meter drops below 12.25 your batt is bad.
