We will be making our reservations today for June 16th thru the 22nd. My cat only has a 'Green Sticker" as required in California. Is there additional paperwork required to play in South Dakota? Thanks in advance!
you'll need a s.d. permit...here is link for last year...probably start selling the 2020 permits after the first of the year...

you might want a temp tag as well while you are there...i'll have to look where that is...our xx is now titled/registered/tagged/insured in s.d... with the tag you can drive all roadways but i-90...

one way to get a temp tag for the streets...

I've gotten some questions about what is needed to ride in the Black Hills if your out of state. I took some pictures of my sticker from this year and where you need to place it. From what I know, as long as your properly registered and have your machine licensed (plates or stickers on your machine) from your home state, all you should need is a Black Hills trail pass. I see your not able to click on Deans links above, so I'll find the ones that where posted in past years threads and repost them here. I posted the link for this year (below the pictures), so it should give you the info you need, but you'll want to check it again for 2020.

If you are not licensed in your state(like me)
You will need to get a temporary permit from Custer County S.D. to drive on the Roads.

everyone needs to bring their rig's titles/registrations/sales receipts with them and have it done in south dakota...you don't need to be a resident of the state nor have a living address there...then you can drive in the western states that permit street legal use like south dakota, utah, arizona, etc...very few places in commie colorado are approved for street legal use...we did all our paperwork in deadwood at the lawrence county clerk's office...took no time at all and the costs were quite reasonable...

Last year I printed out the paperwork online and sent all the information they requested. It took about a week to get the temporary street pass emailed back to me. It only cost $1 per day plus $1 handling fee. There is a minimum 5 day with a limit of 15 days. Very easy. I will try to add a link to check it out. If it doesn't work just google search "Custer county treasurer atv/utv permit" https://www.southdakotaatv.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/ATV-PERMIT.pdf
