Including the cost of your time, utilities, etc? I could make a badass set of doors and a cage on my own for probably half the price, but my time is priceless. Ok, its $45/hr(what I could make just working overtime while I wait for my doors to arrive).

I make the same as you with overtime figured in.

My guess to ******* the doors would take me about 7 hours, if that. That leaves me losing 325.00 worth of overtime, but gaining 338.00 over the cost of the pre-made doors. That would be the equivalent of working 14 hours of double time Plus it still have the other 7 hours to actually work the double time which would net me 663.00 . If you take in account the cost of UTV doors by 7 hours, that is the equivalent of about 92.00 per hour

Besides, there are other places I need to sink money into such as skid plates, seat belt harness, cage work, clutch work, Etc. at some point you have to realize how much money you are sticking in for improvements and start looking for ways to cut expenses.

As I said before, I love the doors, just not the price & should be in the 550 range. Although they have great stuff, UTV tends to be overly expensive for a lot of their items and unlike most of the supporting vendors on this site they do not offer a forum discount. I am sure in the near future, you will see other vendors come out with nice doors at a much better price point

If I walk into my garage at home, I can make a set of doors pretty cheap. If on the other hand I have to include the cost of liability insurance, workers comp insurance, electric bills, salaries, taxes etc the cost of producing a door goes up a bit. We sell our RZR doors for $599 retail and $579 to forum members and I promise you we are not getting rich doing it. Not sure what our Wildcat doors will come in at until they are finished....

I was just having the same conversation with a friend. I could build off the stock doors and skin them for pretty cheap and not too many hours involved, but they would still have shitty angled hinges and even shittier latches. Or I could redesign the doors with better latches and straight hinges and make them the height and shape I want for a little more money and a lot more time. The price of the UTV inc doors is about $100 more than I wanted to spend, but they are really close to what I would have built and they are powder coated and the point my friend made is instead of spending the weekend in the garage building them, I can bolt them on and spend the weekend enjoying them. Thats worth the extra price.

I'll be picking up my UTV inc doors from Spank Motorsports on Friday
