Aftermarket Exhaust?

I have been thinking about getting an aftermarket exhaust but don't know if it is worth the money. Can anyone tell me if it is worth it and which is the best one if it is? Will I notice a difference in hp or is it just for sound? I have heard a few on YouTube but don't think that is what it sound like in person. So far I liked the Big Gun EXO sound. I also heard the D&D and the HMF. Any suggestions would be great.

I've got a D&D Barker, super loud, nice sound, sounds like it rips, makes it feel faster seat of the pants. Prefer my stock one, but always worrying about it over heating. Guess I want it quiet and fast, but compromise has to be made.

We run the EVO Bullet with an added turn down to protect the bumper. A little louder than stock but a good sound. Reduced the amount of heat in the cab and a noticeable seat of the pants power gain.

i will say HMF and big gun are always known for obnoxiously loud......D&D Barker is loud........My favorite is SpeedWerx Full system, or speedwerx Q6 slip on......followed by Ezryde.

I have the Q6 Speedwerx muffler,it's just a little louder than stock.......either drill the cat out of the stock muffler or buy an aftermarket, you will get rid of a lot of heat...

Had the QT from D & D - Barker was too loud for passengers, longer runs and my neighbors - ended up with QT - great sound and a little extra HP and heat dissapation. Just ordered another for my new Sport being done. Have a bunch of work to do when it arrives.

Is there a thread that desribes how to do this? Thanks.

I have the yosh rs4 full system and I never have anything to say about that company they are good for any exhaust on anything...mine is a lil quieter than my grandpa's but he only has the slip on

I'm in the exclusive Muzzy club, since they are no longer in business. lol I really like it, it sounds great and obviously helped with the heat. The biggest reason I bought it, they were the only company with a full exhaust system at the time. Now others are coming out with them which is great. If I were to do it again, I would still get a full exhaust system, but that's just me.

No changes are necessary when only changing mufflers. If you change a muffler and air filter, etc..... than you need to have your ECU flashed accordingly.

So what exhaust is everyone have the best results for heat reduction?

Feel the EVO really reduced the heat. Will no more come Sunday as it is going to be 90 on Saturday. Rode when it was 80 and it was very comfortable, but we also have the rear window in which makes a huge difference .

Which one do you find the quietest? I'm not looking to be any louder just don't want to melt anything if I can avoid it

didn't/don't have a sound db meter but feel the ezryde model i mentioned with the turned down exhaust pipe is quieter than the "qt"...both run cooler and sound great...also, with the turned downed pipe on both had no issues with our a/c rear bumpers...the "qt" chrome pipe turned yellow though...

I installed a speedwerk L2 and a R2C Air cleaner. The L2 is way over the claimed 96 db or under. I need to replace it since I live in the mountains and the sound is so loud, I can actually here it a mile away frm my house. I was thikig the EZRyde might be the alternative for me. I need to also install a fuel management device. I'm thinking of the Dyna jet power module III. This is on a 2014 wildcat 4x.

Any aftermarket exhaust will help with the heat since you're eliminating the stock catalytic converter, all should be similar in power since there's no real "magic" design that's going to provide huge gains on these machines by simply installing a new muffler. Our Q6 Stainless Steel slip-on muffler is a great choice if you're looking for a quiet, maintenance free aftermarket exhaust- it's only 3-5db louder than stock and only 1/2hp less than our louder L2 version. No fuel controller is necessary with basic bolt-ons like a muffler and filter, but there are more gains to be had with one- especially if you get the PCV with the raised rev limiter. There's a bunch more info in this thread, including dyno testing with and without our new header- http://www.wildcatforums.net/forum/wildcat-sport/35690-speedwerx-new-sport-trail-header.html

There's other threads discussing it on here, but the updated '16 firewall and additional heat tape and/or venting will help eliminate any potential melting issues as well. We had our 15 Sport with the Q6 and Stainless Header out at the Rally on the Rocks- no venting, and using the original firewall with a piece of heat tape approx. 12x18 over where the stock foil was and had no issues with heat. The biggest test was on one day when it was 90°+ and sunny, we were in a slow group that was going maybe 5-10mph max for a few hours with no opportunity to pick the speeds up to get some air flow- the firewall behind the passenger seat with the heat tape was warm but not bad at all, and the "headrest" panel above the firewall and the area between the seats that had no heat tape felt very hot, but still no melting or deforming at all- and that's with no roof or anything to shade it from the sun either. On cooler days or where the speeds were higher, it did not get unusually hot anywhere. Your mileage may vary, but that was our personal experience in almost a worst case scenario.
