So there is no discussion of the $47,000,000 settlement this week that Arctic Cat/Textron will have to pay out to Speed for breach of contract? I know Romano and team used to frequent here, so it may or may not be discussed. But I guess it is open for discussion now that it is settled after two weeks in federal court and Romano has posted celebratory photos on Insta.

I'm more curious if that dollar amount will impact production and future development. As it's not bankruptcy sized, but not exactly a small dollar amount.

Just curious.

This has already been appealed more than once i think they have run out. Basically under 7th ammendment of us constitution they habe 28 days to file a rule 50, but its limited to things like award is too high. In this case known fraud by ac/txt was appx 30mil in nonpay of royalties. IE ac/txt did not make the 4xx or turbo xx/4xx to avoid a 3%/car royalty payment or equal to what would have been 30mil. Jury found that fraud was committed and ac/txt purosely slowed production as speed/ac had x amount of yrs agreement. Textron is a billion dollar corp and they could request a rule 50, but it would end up maybe a rule 59 or 60, yet i think fed judge would deny it based on facts alone. Additionally it would only be granted as relief if exorbant, like 150mil jury award. But 47mil is within boundries as that includes lawyer fees, so 30mil to rgb/tr and 17mil in atty fees.

You guys do know that your talking about Robbie Gordon...
Gordon owns SPEED, had a 10 year standing contract with TEXTRON for all of the custom-built machines that he and his son MAX use from Best in the Desert to BAJA, to talks of DAKAR. The real question you should be asking is why things have broken down? Because 1 thing for sure Gordon is a massive influencer in the Desert Racing Communities and it could cost TEXTRON Hundreds of Millions in loses to NOT just settle out and be done with it.

So recently Heidi took over as ceo for the offroad group and we are now seeing aome adjustments in the xx line up. What i know reading the legal docs is rg group has ac by the shorthairs due to design and this is what made the two previous ceos mad. But theu where too short sighted to see through the trees. While every other company added cars and raising prices, ac dug in and sold nothing on purpose. Reality is, with the tech that textron has, ac offroad should have canam and polaris in a corner, but bad management and egos got in the way. Unless ac gets a 4xx and a turbo out soon, they wont stand a chance. They also need to bring the wildcat line up back, even if its just the 5 link rg isnt attached to.
