Does look right? It’s closed at both ends, not sure how it fits over the splined axle
On these machines you have to take the axle completely out of the bearing, there is no room between the axle and bearing. Remove brakes, remove hub nut and hub, remove one upper ball joint (front) or upper link (rear) this will allow room to get the axle out of the bearing then put the tool in and grease the bearing.

GKN is right, the axel runs on the inside of the wheel bearing, there is no space to shove a greaser on. On the Trail/Sport, you have to pull the axel out. However, if you are set up, it only takes 15 minutes per wheel to grease them. It's still pretty simple to do.
