If you have wheel spacers you still might have to modify your fender flares.
I had to use a heat gun and flare them out more around the wheel wells and added extensions on the rear to help with mud.

It looks like my only option is mudbusters. can anyone please tell me the drawback to these?

I have the mud busters on my trail and like them. I really don't have any negative complaints they seem very well made and come with good installation instructions. Customer service was great if you have questions. My only suggestion is don't drill thru. your fender to install them they are stiff enough that you don't need to install a screw thru. your pretty painted surfaces.
