The problem began with difficulty shifting the gear selector to H,L or R. While driving in the dunes and powering out of a turn I heard a clunk and lost Drive, actually thought I blew a belt, but no. Got a tow back to camp and here’s were I’m at with diagnosis. The car will start and idle but as soon as I move the gear selector to H or R it lurches and stalls. I pulled the belt to isolate it and once I did it went in to H and L to problem as I figured it would. So I’m thinking it’s a clutch issue. I’m running a dalton kit with no weights. I’ve read about the problems with the spider on these 13.5’s but I can’t see any breakage, I’m not able to remove it till I get home later this week. What should I be looking at?

You can start the Wildcat in gear by stepping on the brake hard enough to light the brake lights. From what you have said, I suspect if you get it moving that way you won't be able to stop without killing the engine. That would pretty much confirm your suspicions that something is amiss in the primary clutch.

Regarding the linkage, have someone shift it and watch to see if the cable moves the selection arm on the trans freely (obviously with the engine not running and with the 'cat on level ground, so the parking brake isn't loaded-up). The selection arm is forward of the dipstick.

I’ve confirmed the gear lever is moving the cable and moving the selector arm. Now onto removing the clutch for a further look see.

Finally got it pulled out today and as I suspected the spyder part of the clutch is cracked in 3 places. Is this something that can be replaced on the clutch or does the whole assembly need replacement? Looking for the lowest cost repair.
Just need to get it running so I can sell it.

Im leaning towards a 2019 XX Limited if I can get my 13.5 X sold and a good deal, otherwise maybe the Tracker. Don’t want to wait for the new Speed, besides I’m going 2 seater.

Not commenting on your clutch.

I had a 2013.5, loved it. Bought a 2015x 4, it rides better and handles almost as good as the 2 seater. Turns are a little wider but other than that, great bike. You are interested in selling your 2013.5. I sold mine, it was a little tough, nobody wants one of these bikes. I don't understand, they are great. I finally took mine to D&P Performance in Cedar City Utah. Sold in three days, didn't get much or as much as I thought it was worth. Quite a bit under book. I hope you have good luck selling yours.

There’s an a$$ for every seat as we use to say when I was in the RV business. The good new is I don’t HAVE to sell it, just jonesing for an XX limited and there are a few 19’s left that I think I can get a great deal on. I’ll just keep driving it if it doesn’t sell. I think I can sell it if it’s priced right and now that I’ve sorted out all the weak points whoever buys it will be getting a good solid machine.
I like the folks over at D&P, we we’re able to meet them earlier this year at the Wildcat Weekend in Glamis and they were of great help. Just a bit far for me here is So Cal. Did you consign with them? What were you able to get for it.
