Hey guys, The other day while changing out my CV axle I made the stupid mistake of starting the socket with my impact... bad idea. Anyway, long story short, I stripped it out. Can you rethread this part? I have a early 2013 Wildcat 1000. I know it is not ideal, but looking to save $100 on a used red one or unpainted one on eBay. It was powdercoated orange. It is on the drivers side if that helps. Thank you for all of your feedback.

Oh I get it. i was thinking you stripped a bolt hole. The only option that i'm aware of for an external thread is weld it, have it ground or lathed and rethread it. the down side is that you lose your hardening, and its probably cheaper to by a new axle if you don't have the tools. In a pinch you can drill out the center and tread in a bolt.

honestly, I would recommend a new axle or stub end.

Thanks guys! I will try that solution as soon as I get it back from getting the wheel bearings replaced. It is not stripped too bad, just enough that the nut wont catch on the threads. Really frustrating I guess I shouldn't be trying to work as quickly as I was. Efficiency is the cause of most screw ups.
