Need new battery

486 Views 11 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Dough Boy
Well after about 5 years or more I’m finally taking the wildcat out riding again! Of course after sitting for so long I need a new battery. Does anyone know the dimensions? Haven’t had time to pull out the old one to measure it myself.
Looked up on Amazon and this is what popped up.

As luck would have it I'm in the market for 4 of them myself, I got 10 years out of the factory units and 9 out of the DEKA ETX 30L batteries (shorter lifespan due to the constant fluctuation on the Aux batteries I'm guessing). The DEKA's are USA made and about $144 on ebay, but I was told by a DEKA dealer prices are going up.

Just search for "ETX 30L" and it should bring up information on it, they are the same batteries that are used in Harley's.

this one should be it right black cat? Amazon has it for 150. I don’t mind the price. I just want to make sure it fits in the bracket

alright thanks I’ll try it out! My wildcat usually sits a long time do you recommend unplugging the wires so it doesn’t drain?
Get a trickle charger (if it is parked next an outlet), make sure it is AGM battery rated

I changed a WC and trail battery at the same time. The battery size is identical.

Dang the discounted price makes the DEKA's new retail price look cheap...

The $80 batteries are of Chinesium origin. I ride a lot by myself and want things to start when I shut it off.

My climate varies from -40* F to 110* F and the DEKA's hold up well. I run their commercial series in all of my heavy equipment and diesel trucks.

Battery Tender makes some good products, get the quick disconnect cable for your system for ease of removal / hookup

I bought from amazon quick connects and hooked to my battery it hangs out between the seats and if I need to charge or jump another I dont have to dig out my battery I also cut the clamps off one end of jumpers and installed same quick connect to mate up connectors. This is the same set-up as on our wrecker and works awesome
I went with lithium they are finally affordable off Amazon. The Noco is nice and light I use it with a battery tender for lithium batteries.
