I’ve got mine off right now..now I’ll inspect to make sure there is no cracking. I’ve also got the Speedwerx Extreminator kit and clutch.

Woke up this morning to get the car back together and inspected the Primary clutch and noticed these 2 cracks..this is hitting me pretty hard as I’m pressed for time with my job to get the car ready for Thanksgiving. Do you guys feel this would be ok to run for the weekend out in the desert?

Shot in the dark...maybe, maybe not. If it does blow it will more than likely take out the secodary and the inner /outer cover also, exspensive mistake for sure. I got one from MLS powersports to my door in 1 week FYI. Mine just spit the pucks and scratched the sheeve a little, so I rebuilt and have a back-up now.

Thanks Thunder for the quick reply!
And this explanation of yours is what concerns me..I’m deep into our car because the secondary loosened up(even with the Speed lock) and took out the belt and the inner cover as well as chewing up the input shaft. Needless to say I’mtrying to avoid getting this deep anytime soon. I’m also getting burned out dumping money into it…price we pay I guess.

Sorry who is MLS? I looked on CountryCat and trying to figure out which one I’d need? They have a calibrated and uncalibrated…also it has been replaced with a new part number with a $250 price increase $653 for the old p/n and $884 for new p/n…ouch

Is your new clutch the new part number? Our car has the Speedwerx Extreminator kit and would prefer to swap those parts over…unless the new clutch is a significantly better .

Wow,what a bummer. I hope the one I purchased doesn’t have those dings. I’m hopeful mine will show before our thanksgiving trip.

My new Primary is in route but unfortunately it won’t here quick enough to make out Thanksgiving trip.
So in the mean time I’m taking apart the damage one to remove whatever Speedwerx parts that need swapped to the new one.
Does anyone have any tips for getting the rest of the Speedwerx parts removed? Or how much need to be removed. It appears there is a large nut that may need taken off,is this true? If so is it standard threads or left hand? Thanks for any info!

I

Is the clutch arms the parts circled in red?
Also I noticed the plastic/nylon/delron parts circled in blue is pretty worn. So the large black 3 finger part doesn’t get swapped to the new primary?

Thanks Thunder! Really appreciate your input!
So the arms would get swapped to the new clutch?
I noticed a slight groove in the clutch body where that worn puck is. I was looking on Speedwerx site and they sale upgraded pucks($287.00 ouch).
I’m tired of buying parts for this thing, but if it’s a truely a upgrade part I may do it since it’s all apart.

I just got my clutch from MLS and a little disappointed with the way it was packaged from Artic Cat. I haven’t removed it from the box as I’m not sure if I’ll send it back for a better condition new clutch.
