I've been looking for the whole rear diff for a 2014 1000x for many months, even ordered one and they took my money, and they can't say when they will receive one. I'm assuming they have to be made at the factory. My original one is toast as it lost a bearing and ate the case.

If anyone one has a lead on a part # 2502-083 GEARCASE,REAR-ASSY, I would really appreciate it!

Have you tried junk / salvage yards? Everybody eventually loses the rear diff. Hard part to find.

I've exhausted my possibilities, I've used nationwide searches, ebay, everything I can think of. I just sent an email to Artic Cat in hopes of some info. If I find the magic unicorn I'll let everyone know. My Wildcat has been broke for 5 months and I'm itching to hit the dunes!

...so i took my time and put the 2 sheets on my computer:
i found the difference :
;-)
Thank you izom for your time! From what I've found it looks like they are the same unit except for the SLD? that you listed. From what I understand the older version has less aggressive spring rates making it more likely to slip, especially running more hp and bigger tires. I also read there's a way to weld the pack together to eliminate slippage since I'm running both om my 2014. I just need to do a little more research on that. Also need to thank Stray Bullet for finding this other unit. I finally received a response from Artic Cat and they are at least 6-8 weeks out for building new gearcaes's.

I have one if you are interested. It was a backup I had but no longer need it. It has been modified so it can hold extra oil and it doesn't look the best but it works fine. I can send pictures if interested. The person I purchased it from did the modifying and told me that the SLD was welded and he thought the gears had been cryo treated but I haven't taken it apart to verify.

Thanks very much for the offer, I was able to find a used one from a tip from another member. Hope I don't need another one soon!

Thank you!
Looks like a different part number but the image is very close to mine. Anybody know the difference between a 2013 part# 1502-822 and a 2014 part# 2502-083 Wildcat diff?

Was you able to get one and get your cat up and running? It seems like this is a popular problem and quite a few people looking for a rear diff. I wonder if alot of the reason is it just doesn't hold very much oil?

I was able to get the one you listed, I had a major bearing failure, when I bought my Cat it had sat outside for many years with no maintenance, I changed out the oil in the diff and it was contaminated with water. In hindsight I should have rebuilt it with all new bearings which is cheap compared to TRYING to replace the whole thing. I ride mine hard on the sand, the gears were fine, just the bearing went bad.

Thanks again for the tip, otherwise it might have been a few more months before finding another rear diff.

The main gear case, pinion and SLD are shot on mine. When I called Artic Cat, they were hoping to have some available in 6-8 weeks. I wouldn't bet on it. I originally put an order in through Partszilla and it was put on backorder until they get them from Artic Cat
