I made some homemade rock sliders out of 3 inch angle aluminium 1/4'' wall. Started off with a cardboard template to get my length and corner radius down. Then transferred everything over to the aluminium, cut, bent them up, made a filler plate for the top to look clean and prevent dirt/mud build up and welded up the notch I cut out to make the bend. Where the fender well meets the frame tube, I took those screws out and put in plus nuts to accept a 1/4 inch bolt. To hold up the rear in drilled through the end of the frame and rock slider and used a carriage bolt and nut, I may change this later to bevel headed bolt for a flush fit.

I think they turned out pretty well and will keep me from putting more dents in the outer frame rail and they did not add too much weight to the sxs. I will be powder coating them to finish them off.

Thanks for the compliments. Wish I could make a living making this kind of stuff. Working on an aluminum roof now, hopefully I will get it done this weekend, to send everything to powder coat at once.

Thanks guys.

Amazon Drive sucks, it never auto syncs and I have to force it to sync. What do most of you guys use? I would like the photos to show in the thread and not have to use a link.

I just use the photo button in the tool bar above the reply box. When it opens just click on "from computer" browse through the files on your computer or phone till you find the photo and click on the add file and do this for up to 4 photos then click upload. It is sometimes slow so don't keep clicking or you'll double post.

Those sliders came out really nice. Like the roof as well! Too bad you're all the way in ID or I'd pay you to build me a roof haha.
