Hi Everyone,
I think some of you already know me or have dealt with me on your XX trans and diff issues. I found this forum looking for some tech docs and figured I should join in on the discussions. I don't want to make my presence here appear that I am "advertising", but I will do my best to respond to any gearbox and differential threads based on my technical experience.
For those that don't know me, I manage the UTV transmission and differential service program here at Weddle Industries. We specialize in producing and maintaining high performance transaxles and parts specifically used in off-road racing, and high powered off-road sand cars and buggy's and such. We produce gears and parts for VW, Mendeola, Albins, and our own Weddle line of gearboxes.
We got into the UTV transmissions and diffs around 2016 once the Polaris XP 1000 and XP Turbos started getting enough miles on them where the gearboxes really started showing their weaknesses. We were approached by a few off-road racing teams that knew what we do and asked if we could sort these out. We immediately identified many areas of the gearboxes and diffs that were problematic straight out of the factory. Most of these issues are simply due to cost savings in mass production components. We now have a full time UTV service program specializing in Arctic Cat Wildcat XX, Can-Am, and Polaris gearboxes and differentials with factory and aftermarket parts in stock for sale and use for in house services.
We have refined our race prep processes on these gearboxes and diffs over the past 7 years and have refined our process to know exactly what each gearbox and diff needs to make them as strong as possible. Keep in mind that we are still utilizing factory produced gears and housings, we have not made any Weddle gears of components for these...yet.
If anyone has any questions, it is best to e-mail or call me directly at the shop. I do not check all of these message boards on a regular basis, so I may not respond quickly if you direct message me on the site.
