I recently blew a belt in my 2014 wildcat 4x. It was after about 1000 miles so not bad. I decided to try and check belt alignment while I am waiting for a new one to come in. I have a used belt installed while I wait for the new belt to come in. With the used belt I am not able to get the alignment working spec. Should I be measuring alignment with a new belt? I am following the service manual procedure.

I always used a new belt, but I'm not 100% certain it is required. I don't think a worn belt will be pushed as far out of the secondary as a new belt, so the gap at the primary sheave would be greater.

BTW, this AC video is excellent:

Thank you. I watch his video and seem like a pretty straight forward process. Guess I’ll have to try with the new belt and report back
