Are these like the crappy plastic ones that come stock on a RZR? I have heard of Aluminum and or UHMF no idea what HDPE is.

That is what I gather. Its probably similar to those on the Prowler. The ones on the RZR suck. They are hard plastic and shatter if you hit a rock. Mine on the last 2 Prowlers held up fine. I do about half dunes and half forest riding. The strong flexible plastic is better because it gives and absorbs the shock...........

HDPE is made from the same material as UHMW but it is not as tough and will break where UHMW will bend and distort but is almost unbreakable. The difference in the 2 materials is in how it is formed UHMW is much more dense. I make a lot of parts out of both materials you can take a 1/4" thick piece of UHMW and fold it in half it will not break if you fold a 1/4" piece of HDPE in half it will break. Both are good materials depending on your intended use. UHMW cost about 1/3 more.
