I can replicate the clanking noise by tapping the throttle. It has gotten worse over time. It sounds like a u-joint, or could it be in the clutch? The machine runs fine and hooks up, but I'm afraid this clanking is going to show itself on the trail somewhere.

That does sound reasonable now that you guys mention that. I’ve never messed with the clutch, but it does tend to be finicky when engaging it to take off. I have to sorta tap the throttle to get it to engage.

That "clinking" sound is the cash register at the Parts Dept of your dealer. You'll get used to it. :)

True.. but that comes with any hobby. I feel like a slave to my toys sometimes.

I've never replaced my belt on mine. It sounds like a good time to open it up and inspect everything in the clutch.
