i joined this forum to look around abit to see whats up with the new wildcat. but most of what i`ve read so far has just been people bashing the shit out of each other over their opinions. i currently own a 2010 prowler xtz 1000 and a 2012 rxr xp. so i feel i can speak abit about both sides of the fence unbiasly. my riding buddy has an 09 xtz as well as another with an 011 xtz. i put 1806 miles on my prowler prior to it splitting the eng case open and spilling out the oil and transfer gear parts. we were in my buddys 09 w 500 miles on it for tranny issues,and again at another 500 for the same thing. the 010s had a diff lower eng with some updated tranny parts but a weaker case. while mine was at the dealer getting a new eng,so was my buddys 011 and 4 others,all for the exact same issue. the eng is tough,i ran mine on the rev limiter for 6hrs will no oil in it to finish it off. the trannys and cases are junk! when they all went down i got online and looked around at all of to see what was up with cats,pol can-ams. yes they all break,but look what we expect from them. its a matter of what failures can you live with. the xp has a chain in the trans for reverse and if you get stupid with the loud pedal it`l break,but it will still drive and contain the oil! i loved my prowler even with the rediculous amount of noise it makes. i was seriously concidering a new WC until they desided to use this eng,no thanx. all the folks wanting to turbo them or whatever are in for a bunch of broken stuff,they will not hold up. the susp is awesum,the power plant,or the trans for sure is not.
