Wildcat trail oil filter??

The Trail has a very high oil pressure until warmed up, also still on high side even after that. A thicker oil can run that pressure up even higher and its already high enough. As said above, its the oil AC says to go with, 0W-40 Full Synthetic.

My dealer put in 5w30 Suzuki oil on my first service... When I asked him about it the service manager said it's AC warranty approved and it's what they use on everything they sell or service.

Unless another dealer chimes in I'm calling your dealer a liar. All the AC manuals and service manuals call for 0w-40 Full Synthetic, that oil right there isn't even full synthetic…..will it still be ok, more than likely it will be, but think the only reason your dealer said that is thats the all round oil, and they don't have to worry about different oil for different machines. That to me is just a lazy dealer.

I also run the mobil 1 oil and K&N filter.

i wouldnt waste your money on a k&n, just get a hi-flo. They make the K&N anyhow. Same filter with a nut on the end. :)
Alex

We install the 621 on oil changes as well.

I get my K&N off ebay and they are like a dollar more than the hi-flo, but they are larger capacity so I like that feature, have no need for the nut since I'm the one putting them on I can always get them off easy by hand.

I understand and appreciate Dragongunner that you change and put your own oil filter on. I changed the oil on my Yamaha Roadstar the other day and it took me 2 days to get the crank case bolt off. The dealer change it previously and marred and striped the bolt. Then I tried get the oil filter off and had to use an oil ratchet strap just to get the oil filter off. Needless to say I was not happy with the dealer and the bike will never go back. Plus it is a 10 min job from start to finish and I rather do it myself...

Ya i don't know what it is with some guys…think they need a ratchet to put on oil filter as tight as they can…several times I've had to drive a screwdriver through a filter to get it off.
