I'm new to this forum and I currently own a Rzr 800 and I'm looking to upgrade to a 1000cc Utv and the wildcat besides price wise is toward the bottom of my list so I just wanted some opinions on owning wildcat and how they compare to Rzr 900 and 1000 and what specific Wildcafs should be avoided and specific problems. thanks

You really need to ride in or drive a Wildcat to appreciate it. Once you feel the suspension and the low center of gravity, you'll be hooked. I sat in a Rzr 900 this past weekend and it felt like I was sitting on top of the machine instead of inside it. The Wildcat hugs the ground! The 2012 Wildcats had some oil leak issues so that is one I would stay away from. Otherwise, I think they are all pretty dependable machines. The 2012s and early 2013 have a wet clutch which was replaced with the team clutch on the 2013.5 model. There are people that don't care for the wet clutch but I have one (2013) and have been very happy with it. I ride wooded trails in WV and it has served mw well.

Every one has there ups and downs but at the end of the day it's what one your happy with and I stand behind my choose for picking the wildcat

My friend and I both have Cats. We both sat in Xp900s and Xp1000s before making the decision. Honestly, the Wildcat might not be the worst greatest appointed machine but it sure as hell feels much more comfortable than either of the Polaris machines. The interior and build quality of both of the XPs didn't really impress me in any way what so ever.

No machines are perfect yet and most certainly none are bulletproof. The decision is ultimately up to you.

Speed and hp = XP1K. Suspension/driver seating/riding comfort = Wildcat.

NOT FAIR ... you need to include Maverick Turbo into the comparison. Alba racing had changes intake, muffler, and flashes the ecu getting 170hp at crank, 150hp to the wheels. That's substantial ... no engine work, simple intake, exhaust and re-flash.

Its no comparison....Mav has worst suspension of them all. Slap a turbo on WC and your at the same HP and the CAT will walk away from Mav in desert or dunes once there are a few bumps on the road.

drove it after someone else, heat from center noticed right away, it was 40 degree out but really noticed the heat. seating way too high, nose bleed level. cramped, surprisingly the power was not that great as expected. Im going riding with him coming up in the future and will try it again after the engine is hopefully broke in. I know the Can Am dealer here so I have access to that thing whenever.

I have owned 2012 Polaris Ranger, 2013 Polaris RZR 800 before buying my 2014 Wildcat 1000. Although not as many miles as most others on this forum I am planning a long future with my Wildcat. IMHO the ride just feels more confident on rough terrain compared with past rides. None of the issues listed by others have shown themselves at this time, but like any machine if you run it hard things will break, it's just a matter of time.

Yeah, that's another strike against the Maverick. Cab heat. Every Maverick has it.

Maverick suspension isn't BAD ... but agreed it's not as good as wildcat.

Build quality is generally better in Can Am.

I definitely would rate Can Am first for fit/finish/build quality, and last for suspension, after the Cat, and XP1K.

That video is a joke, could the driver of the XP saw the wheel any harder back and forth in his attempt to try to screw it up? Also speed makes ALL the difference in whoops like that, if he went faster the XP would also skip over the tops of the whoops too. But I get it, go slower and saw the wheel like a mofo to acheive the desired results of making one look bad versus the other while pointing out the sticking shock that was probably caused by these yahoo's bending the shock shaft doing some other dumbshit to make the Polaris look bad.

Pointing out legitimate advantages is one thing but videos like this do more to show the Can Am needs the PoPo to be sabotaged to be as good than it does anything else.
