I just purchased a artic cat wild cat x 1000. And only got to ride it for about 5 hours before the engine went out. Am looking for one. So please anyone who has one for sale please contact me. Seems there not easy to find. [email protected]

Guess I'm going to rebuild it. Finding one in running condition is slim picking. Finding rebuilt kit allot eazer.

What went wrong with the motor

Jumped timing. Looked like no maintenance was ever done on it. Nothing lubed. Metal in oil pan. Was outside not covered. First owner seemed to take care of it. But the lady I bought it off of only drove it for 2 hours less then 100 miles for 1 1/2 years. With no maintenence fine to it

So did you have a valve slam? Was the tensioner seized from corrosion? Valves out of adjustment? What lack of maintenance do you think caused this?

Not exactly sure. I have had to take it to a mechanic to get it looked over.
So I'm wanting to purchase a rebuilt. Not sure if I want to rebuild it. Just wanna get out and ride
