Anyone else concerned about your bumper mounted winch getting assaulted by either rocks, mud, dirt or water? I’m trying to figure out a way to keep it covered and protected while not in use. The winch is just a ”passenger“ 99.9% of the time for a lot of us.

Don't leave it on the bumper?

Ours has been in the stock location for 6 years, wash the dirt off with the hose when I wash it and it's been fine. Not used often but has never failed

My 18 X LTD has a neoprene cover on the winch. Also, I wired in a switch to cut off winch power when not in use.

The Trail has the winch behind the front frame member. So, it’s down low and will catch every bit of debris and water and mud.
