I am no stranger to racing I spent the better part of 12 years pitting for my son-in-law who raced stock cars,IMCA modified,s and then 360 limited sprint cars all of which I help build but this is the point about what they’re spending on these so-called factory racing UTV desert cars. Nobody who is bragging about the brand of UTV that they are riding around in for pleasure can brag about their car manufacturer winning these big races because those cars are nothing but name recognition because there’s nothing factory about them except maybe the motor.

is that seriously the kind of money they are spending on these machines to make them desert racers?
Tube chassis 4130 with a LOT of one off parts.

They claimed they spent 140k on that car...raced it once...finished 7th at the Mint 400 in the unlimited class. (new driver I think-wife)

And people ask..why can't a 30k XX win races against 75-120k cars?
This new stock class will be the one to watch...in all the series.

The Dakar Speedcats were 4130 one-off chassis (actually 4-off)

Still waiting for a Wildcat XX to consistently finish desert races. RG and his speed cats have been plagued with problems. There is not reason the Wildcat XX is not up in the top 5 consistently in the non-turbo class.

Not enough experienced racers racing.
Kolton Husted might finish in the top 5 in points in BITD- my prediction. He will get a podium this year I think.

Seth Quintero is KILLING it right now in NA...picked up Red Bull and he even won the Turbo S giveaway at the UTVWC... #Diamonds

My buds team asked Can AM if they wanted to support an NA car this year...They declined...we would have run the 900 NA X3 if they obliged with some $$$.

As for the race stuff- follow Novamans build for the "stock" class. Should be interesting to follow along.
If I was building a stock class racer- the XX would be my first choice...no doubt.
My brother wants to do it- I don't really want to- my tired old bones are pretty worn out for that stuff...and I still like chasing and pitting.

Come to a race and see what it is all about. Silver State 300 next up...

Like we have all agreed, great car yet to be proven. Still has alot of bugs to be worked out. Without the aftermarket it only make that worse. At 17,999 through bass pro it is definetly better value. But it is definetly having selling problems. To many confusing to the public changovers

Mine has no bugs...
Most of the guys here will tell you the same thing.
Only complaint I have is it is louder than my old car. (X3's are very quiet going through the turbo) I had to buy intercoms for the wife and I.

Well and I had to modify my trailer so I could still fit my bike.

We understand the n/a vs turbo talking points. Lol. You'll try anything to derail the topic of the XX.... where did the dominate suspension of the wildcat XX finish?? Not the rzr as they aren't what you are boasting to be so superior?

Since you are too lazy to look it up...
Only one Speedcat raced the SF 250...he DNF'd...as did all the others but 2 in the NA class.

UTVWC
3 in the dezert race (44 total entries 50% finish rate)
9th, 16th and 1 dnf

2 in the short course race
13th and dnf (45 entries 66% finish rate)

I do agree we should get back on topic...that the XTR or XX or whatever is the BEST stock NA class car you can buy for the $$$ right now.
I can attest to that...but don't listen to Mr "know it all" ...LOL...ask the experts.

Cheers

And more for you turbo fanboys...

Seth Quintero (Rzr NA) would have finished 4th in turbo class (18 seconds off the podium) at the UTV World Championships last Sat.
On a short dez course.

Kristin Matlock would have finished 5th in turbo also in her NA Polaris at the SF250/350.

Can ams may have axle/cv's in race trim. 25" travel has negative affects on cv's. Lol. Wildcats have had axle issue off the showroom floor at 18" of travel and no racing. Keep in mind that you can buy various axle brands for the x3. How many can you for the wildcat?

Not sure yet. I hope RG does a shorter axle for his new dual plunge. The updated Textron axles/boots looks much better. I am probably going to buy 2 and use my old ones for spares. Everyone breaks axles and CV's at some point.
Bulloch managed to win a race with stockers...a 500 at that. And the no scrub rear setup kicks ass- hands down.
Don't forget to set up those 3 track bars on the X3 correct.
And better get out the laptop for all the limp modes...LOL

Axles will show up soon...I will stick with the stockers for now.

. Doesn't make any sense to come on here assuming you know it all. That is all I am saying.
When did I say, "I know it all"?

Been racing shit since 1984...I learn something new all the time...and I am HANDS ON prepping everything.

I noticed my right inner rear CV seeping a little around the clamp after my hard 50 miles in 2wd the other day. Probably got it real hot...blew up the boot enough for some grease to seep- not a lot...enough to trap the dirt. I know I will need some axle upgrades some day...no doubt...part of it.

You don't know what caused that failure, you don't even know if that same thing would have happened with 4wd.
You are correct...I do not know "what" caused the failure.
But it happened to the rear cv/hub area. Justin advised he felt the brakes getting spongy some time before that...obvious overheating going on in that area.

So to deduce...

He lost the front diff at RM 60...

Just throwing it out there for everyone to soak up.

Mine weighs 1900lbs without me in it and with only half a tank of fuel, so about 2100lbs with me in it and a full tank. I know because I weighed it on a certified scale. I understand racing is on another level, but ive done longer than a 3 mile wash driving hard, not at these power levels, but hard driving enough to where it was either wide open throttle or full on 100% brakes, nothing inbetween. I have bent a few front axles but never a problem with the rear.

Total loss. I am in oregon, those are out the door prices. The 15k wildcat xx on Instagram was new. Like I said great car lots to offer. Yet no more to offer than other manufacturers at a better cost. I've passed up xp1000s for 13.9k brand new here too

You don't pay tax either. We do here...I pay a minimal amount for Kali- 7.25%
15k OTD for an XX ? I would like to see that bill of sale.

XP1000's here are 16k otd.
