Hello gentlemen, I am new to the group and also new to arctic cat side-by-side’s. We just bought a 2013 1000 wildcat X. Machine seems to be in excellent condition, and very clean. We drove 145 miles to purchase the unit. The machine started and we drove the machine to test drive it. Everything seemed pretty normal, but did notice it had a little low RPM flutter to it. Did not run smooth down low. It has a stage five trinity exhaust and programmer. We made a deal to purchase the unit, got it home and went to unload off the trailer and it will not run. It started up, but immediately shut off. And it is flashing the P0037 code. The previous owner said he had just had it in the shop and got a lot of stuff done to it. They changed the stator. He gave us the old one, and told us he really didn’t think it had a problem. He said the reason he changed it is because he washed the unit, and after he washed it it would not start. Took it to his local shop, and they changed out the stator. We purchased this machine for my nephew. Would really like to get it running for him. I know there is some serious talent on this forum, was in high hopes some of you guys could point us in the right direction. All help and advice greatly appreciated in advance!

The crank position sensor wires run through the same seal as the stator, with a separate connector outside the stator cover. When the mechanic installed the new stator, it probably came with a new CPS. Check the CPS connector (2 wires, vs. the stator connector with 3 thicker wires). If that doesn't fix it, you'll probably need to pull the stator cover off to see if the crank sensor is mounted correctly and that the wiring inside the cover is intact.
The inside of the stator cover is exposed to the crankcase (it doesn't hold oil, but oil gets splashed around inside it), so it is a good idea to have a new gasket.
If you decide to try the old stator and CPS, use Loctite on the stator mounting screws. The stator is heavy, and if the screws loosen it will shift and contact the spinning flywheel. Not good.

^^^ What mbrandt1402 said. CPS may have wiring issue or came loose from it's mount inside the cover. Pull the cover and see. While the cover is off you can see if the starter gear is jammed.
Just wanted to give an update on our problems. I went ahead and pulled stator cover. All the wiring looked fine with the crank position sensor. Starter gears were worn. Went ahead and ordered the starter upgrade kit from MLS. Got all that installed, and reinforced the boss with a sleeve. Installed new spark plugs, and thoroughly cleaned all electrical connections, and used dielectric grease on all of them. Buttoned everything back up, and machine started right up! Been running like a champ! My nephew finally got to ride it this weekend for the first time since we purchased the machine. Thanks everyone that responded with the helpful suggestions.
