got a letter a couple days ago from Textron saying to disconnect the winch cable because of possible overheating problems with the winch solenoid. An update to the winch solenoid is in the near future. So I did as they suggested and disconnected it only to find the bolt holding it on3/4 out. O well going to have to reconnect it ever time I need it that will suck.

Opps wrong section should be in Wildcat trail Se section my bad

I understand your frustration about having to reconnect the power to your winch every time you need to use it. However on the brighter side:
We were outside when we heard a strange noise coming from around our machine. Then suddenly say smoking bellowing out from under the driver's seat. Two fire extinguishers later and getting the power source disconnected we saved our machine, trailer, truck, camper, garage, house and pets. Our dealership informed of others that were not so fortunate whereas they lost 4 machines, 4 place enclosed trailer, and truck as they slept when the faulty solenoid caused a fire.

Wow Kind of thought that is what was happening. BUT Textron should at least said that in their letter not "precautionary measure to eliminate possible overheating of solenoid" How about big bloody fire if you don't ( ;

I was a Vol Firefighter/Officer for 15 years have see just about all things start fires including a Firefighters pager in the charger LOL.

Thanks Tams

Warn had a similar recall on their contactors as well a couple years ago. This is a good reason to leave your winch in free spool mode, that way the hook don't go flying through the grill of the Beamer and you have to spain to the wifey how the hole got there.. :cool:

Got my recall for my winch today. LOL. It ALREADY caught fire on about August 21st. I am so frustrated with this 2017 Wildcat Sport Limited edition that I could tell AC just where to park it. It has been setting at the repair shop more than in my yard. Less than 400 miles on it. I have made 3 calls to AC and gotten no where. NEXT STOP registered letter to AC, Attorney General, Better Business Bureau. Maine has a Lemon Law and a few other laws to help.
