Did you clean it off so you can see and remove the snap ring

Yea I removed snap ring lol. Was trying to do it without a press but guess I'm gonna have to get one

Mine fell out on limo cat. Penetrating oil overnight should help a lot

I have a ball joint removal kit i use on trucks but i just threw the arms in my press and popped them out. May be a little hard to get started if they have the retaining compound on them, little heat might help. With that tool you can swap the ball joints without removing the arms.

Has anyone found a good aftermarket balljoint that has a grease zerk (fitting) yet???
I'm still using a grease needle on mine but would like to change the joints out while I pull the whole suspension off this thing for maintenance..

No no no no no no no aftermarket! They are all made by same place. I broke 2 in one weekend and was lucky I didn't break a lot of other stuff

I'm not surprised they are lasting longer in a lighter unit but the way they just snap is really bad.I got crazy lucky that I was barely moving both times and felt it give so I jammed the brakes. If the wheel would have rotated a little more it would have broken other parts and I can't imagine if I was going fast where I would end up especially on a hard turn. I would think you are just on borrowed time. Not a risk I would personally take

I have all balls joints on my wc4. About 600 miles with no issues yet and I dont baby it lol. Must be lucky so far. My stocks were loose in the arm which is why I replaced them and fell out after snaprings removed. New ones were put in with a press. If u are hammering the old ones out u NEED to support the control arm which will make removing easier and save your shock so u are not hammering on the internal stop.

got 1200 miles on my originals, and only the bottoms are a little loose

DRock, which ball joint removal kit do you have? Been wanting to get one but don't want to spend $600 lol. Same with a press, for how little I use it I was just going to pick up one from harbor freight or something

I have a 20ton press, harbor freight type jobby. Got it on sale and youd be surprised how much use you get out of it. Mine has paid for itself many times. My ball joint removal kit is also a harbor freight type jobby, was around 150 bucks. Ive removed rusted in balljoints from 1/2 ton trucks with ease. Wouldn't call it professional grade but for the amount it gets used I cant argue. It will replace the balljoints in anything I have sitting in my driveway and that's all the matters. Add in some heat and a little finesse and that kit will work just fine.

No sand. Only run in low gear. I was barely moving or doing anything when they broke thankfully, that's why I didn't tear up a bunch more, being able to stop as soon as I felt something weird. The wheel didn't even make 3/4 rotation when I broke, that's how slow I was going both times. If it made 1 full rotation all hell would have broken
